Archery Compound Bows

Our website is written to help you find the best deals and cheap prices on high quality compound archery bows.
My friend Alex asked me to research and find the best compound archery bows at the lowest cost. He had decided to "take up" this sport as a hobby. (He has been watching the TV show "Robin Hood" LOL). He decided he would use a compound bow, since it has pulleys and adjustable limbs. The pulleys and adjustable limbs can help the shooter hold the bow at full draw easier and longer, allowing him to aim better or longer. Alex realized he may not have the "muscle" to hold the string at full draw on a traditional bow.
About the Archery Compound Bow:
The first thing I had to do was find out what archery compound bows are, since I thought all bow&arrows were the same. Basically it is a modern product with a mechanical advantage that uses a levering system with cables and pulleys or cams which helps bend the limbs. This type has its string attached to the pulleys where one or more cables is also attached to the other limb. As the string is pulled back, it causes the pulleys or cams to turn, pull the cables and causes the limbs to bend. The bending of the limbs gives power to the arrow.
I found quite a bit of interesting information. This type was invented in 1966 by Holless Wilbur Allen, and patented in 1969. Within the 40 years of its invention, it has become the most popular type of bow used in the United States. Considering bow&arrows have been with us since the Ice Age, this is quite an accomplishment.
Buying the Right Archery Compound Bow
Now it was time to research buying it. I was looking to find one that is rated well by users, either by brand name, is low cost, and can be purchased easily online. I had to keep in mind that my friend Alex is a newcomer to archery too, and his physical size. After researching, I found the following products that just may be right for Alex. I am posting them here, because they may be right for you too.
Crosman Archery Elkhorn Jr Compound Bow Set: One of the first places I checked for good buys was Amazon. This package set popped up as the bestselling on their site at the time of my research.

This particular product is named a "youth compound bow". I thought it might be helpful for Alex to start out with a smaller bow since he is on the smaller size. This Elkhorn has good heavy weight limbs and heavy duty all weather strings and cables and is very close to an "adult" bow. It also has an integrated composity center shot riser with a large sight window to help with aiming. It can give the newcomer an excellent shooting performance.
Fred Bear ® Omni Pro Compound Bow Realtree Hardwoods ® HD: While researching bows, Bear Archery came up quite a bit on archery forums. So I decided to check and see what bestselling Fred Bear was showing and the Omni Pro came up.

I was really pleased with the description on this set. It comes with a lot of cool stuff (archery accessories), like a precision, machine speed OneCam system, a 3-pin fiber optic sight, 2-piece quiver and super rest 200 arrow rest. It talks about how well made it is with the tech twist synthetic 2-color string cables, the carbon air quad limbs; aircraft aluminum and straight carbon rod. It's a bit on the pricey side, yet with the accessories added it makes it a better bargain.
PSE ® Hammerhead™ Compound Bow Right Hand: Another top brand that comes up frequently is PSE Bows. Again, I checked on some of their best selling products and the Hammerhead came up.

Reading the description was very surprising. I can't wait to tell Alex about this one ... It starts off with "don't just go fishing, HUNT!" You can use this PSE Bow to go fishing! How cool is that? Its easy-drawing single cam seems to offer excellent penetrating power which you would need to go deep water fishing. It is also customizable in that it has several sight mounting holes, a stabilizer hole and accessory mounting holes that fits all types of standard archery and bowfishing accessories. Alex loves to fish too, so this is a good consideration for him.
Used Compound Bows:
As we discussed the above choices, we also talked about the prices and wondered if it may be better for Alex to start off with a good quality used compound bow. Really, he's a newcomer and what if he decides to stick it in a corner somewhere to gather dust. There are quite a number of cheap used bows to be found online, at good prices too. You can see a few examples listed below ...

In Summary, my venture into research archery compound bows gave me very interesting information and resources to learn. It makes Me want to go out and buy one! I did take an archery class when I was in high school and did pretty well. And, I even dated a fellow who was on his University's archery team. He had grand hopes of making the Olympic team (didn't though). It is a fascinating hobby, whether you wish to pursue it for hunting or competition. Hope the above information is helpful for fellow shooters!

I am huge fan of archery hunting and think everyone should give it a try. Bows can be very expensive and getting one of the top name brands could cost over $600. I agree with the author and think that Ebay is a great place to find a bargain. Many people go through bows like clothes and the smart shopper can take advantage and buy a used bow from Ebay. Thanks for information

Wow, this is really helpful information, much appreciated.
Thank you for your help!
Staying away from huts, fly camping out and hunting in areas with low hunting pressure will increase your chances greatly.
